Charles Kennedy is based in New York and is well-versed in stage acting and improv. His love for the stage began in grade school in Los Angeles and as he expanded his skills through improv classes, he began to appreciate the endless possibilities that it offered to a creative mind. Charles founded successful improv groups in high school and at NYU, where he also performed in plays and short films, wrote and directed the play “Shakesparody: A ComiTragic Satire,” and performed with several different groups at the People’s Improv Theater.
Charles has over 15 years of classes and formal training in New York and Los Angeles at the Susan Batson Studio, the Strasberg Institute, and the Barrow Group. Charles’ work in town ranges from comedic plays and off-broadway to movies and TV shows, including crime and historical re-enactments. He has acted at the Manhattan Repertory Theater, the Kraine Theater, the Secret Theater, Village Playwrights, The Tank and even under the stars in Riverside Park.
Adept at everything from slapstick to Shakespeare, he works easily with others and is eager for new challenges on stage or in film. Charles is often able to play characters significantly younger and older than his age. Directors and producers appreciate the excitement, flexibility and insight he brings to every project, and continue to return to him for roles ranging from the educated and observant to the awkward and irritating. Charles is Screen Actors Guild (SAG) eligible.
